Rare EBBRO 1/43 Scale Models from JGTC and Super GT Series Now Available
We are thrilled to announce that Motorsport Model Shop has acquired a remarkable collection of preloved EBBRO 1/43 scale models, featuring some of the most iconic racing cars from the Japanese Grand Touring Championship (JGTC) and Super GT series. This collection featuring over 60, yes, 60 cars spans all manner of years from 2002 to 2013.
These vehicles will be inspected and added to the website over the coming week, however below are some of the spotlight cars now available.

Toyota Supra #37 Dynacity Tom's Super GT GT500 2005

The 2005 season marked a significant year for the Super GT series, being the second season after the championship's rebranding from JGTC. The #37 Dynacity Tom's Supra, piloted by the talented duo of Tatsuya Kataoka and Sakon Yamamoto, represented Toyota's continued commitment to GT500 racing during a transitional period for the manufacturer.
Team TOM'S (Tachi Oiwa Motor Sports) had been Toyota's premier racing outfit since 1974, and their Supra GT500 programme was one of the most successful in Japanese motorsport. The 2005 season was particularly notable as it would be one of the final years for the iconic Supra in GT500 competition before Toyota transitioned to the Lexus SC430 platform in 2006.
The #37 Dynacity-sponsored car featured the powerful Toyota 3UZ-FE 4.5L V8 engine, which produced approximately 500 horsepower under GT500 regulations. While the #37 car didn't achieve championship glory in 2005, it contributed to Toyota's strong presence in the series and helped maintain the legendary status of the Supra in Japanese motorsport.

Toyota Supra #6 Esso Toyota Team LeMans 2004 JGTC GT500

The 2004 season was the final year of the JGTC before its rebranding to Super GT, making this #6 Esso Toyota Team LeMans Supra a significant piece of Japanese motorsport history. Driven by the formidable pairing of Akira Iida and Juichi Wakisaka, this car represented one of Toyota's strongest entries in the championship.

Team LeMans had established itself as one of Toyota's most competitive teams in the GT500 class, with Iida and Wakisaka forming a particularly effective driver partnership. The team had previously claimed championship glory in 2002, and the 2004 season saw them continue to challenge at the front of the field.

Powered by the Toyota 3UZ-FE 4.5L V8 engine, the Supra GT500 was renowned for its reliability and performance, even as it neared the end of its competitive lifecycle in the series. The distinctive blue and white Esso livery made this car a fan favourite, with its bold design standing out on the grid.

Lexus SC430 #6 Mobil 1 Toyota Team LeMans Super GT GT500 2006

The 2006 season marked a significant transition for Toyota in the Super GT series, as they replaced the long-serving Supra with the new Lexus SC430 platform. The #6 Mobil 1 Toyota Team LeMans entry, driven by Akira Iida and Tatsuya Kataoka, was part of this new chapter in Toyota's GT500 programme.
The debut season for the Lexus SC430 proved remarkably successful, with Juichi Wakisaka and André Lotterer claiming the drivers' championship in the #36 TOM'S car. This immediate success demonstrated the potential of the new platform, which would go on to become one of the most successful in Super GT history.
Powered by the Lexus 3UZ-FE 4.5L V8 engine, the SC430 GT500 represented a technological leap forward, with its advanced aerodynamics and chassis design setting new standards in the series. The #6 car's distinctive Mobil 1 livery, with its red, white, and blue colour scheme, made it one of the most visually striking cars on the grid.

Toyota Celica Liftback Turbo Gr.5 Silhouette Series #1 Tom's 1979

Taking us back to the roots of Japanese motorsport, this EBBRO model represents the iconic Toyota Celica Liftback Turbo that competed in the Group 5 "Special Production Car" category in the late 1970s. This particular car, sporting the #1 TOM'S livery from 1979, represents a fascinating chapter in Toyota's international racing history.
Originally built by the German Schnitzer team to compete in the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM) championship, this Celica was later shipped to Japan where the Toyota-backed TOM'S team campaigned it in the Fuji Super Silhouette series in 1979. The car featured dramatic aerodynamic modifications typical of Group 5 regulations, with massively flared wheel arches, an aggressive front air dam, and a prominent rear wing.
Powered by a turbocharged engine producing approximately 570 horsepower, these Group 5 Celicas were technological marvels of their era. While the car achieved limited competitive success, winning just a single race in Japan, it represented an important step in Toyota's development as a motorsport powerhouse and helped establish TOM'S as Toyota's premier racing partner.

Honda NSX #32 Epson Nakajima Racing JGTC GT500 2004

The 2004 season saw Honda take a bold technical direction with their NSX GT500 programme, introducing a turbocharged C30A engine to replace the naturally aspirated C32B that had powered their cars in previous years. The #32 Epson Nakajima Racing entry, driven by the talented pairing of André Lotterer and Tsugio Matsuda, was at the forefront of this technical evolution.
Nakajima Racing, founded by former Formula 1 driver Satoru Nakajima, had established itself as one of Honda's premier teams in the JGTC. The 2004 season proved to be a year of both challenge and triumph for the #32 car, as the team worked to optimise the new turbocharged powerplant.
Despite the development challenges, the #32 Epson NSX achieved notable success, winning the fifth round at Twin Ring Motegi and also claiming victory in the non-championship race at California Speedway. These results demonstrated the potential of Honda's new technical approach, even if consistency proved elusive during this development year.
