British Touring Car Championship Scale Model Racing Cars

The British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) is one of the oldest and most fiercely contested national racing series in the world. Established in 1958 as the British Saloon Car Championship, the series has evolved through multiple technical eras, from Group A and Super Touring to the current Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) regulations. Known for its close, contact-heavy racing, the BTCC features heavily modified versions of everyday road cars competing across the UK's most demanding circuits.

Our BTCC collection focuses on the modern NGTC era, featuring highly detailed 1:43 scale replicas produced by Spark. The range includes the dominant rear-wheel-drive BMW 330i M Sport and the front-wheel-drive Ford Focus ST.

Spark's BTCC models are constructed from premium resin, allowing for precise replication of the aggressive bodywork, including the standardised front splitters and rear wings. Each model is a sealed body replica, presented on a display plinth within a clear acrylic case.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scale are the BTCC models in this collection?

All the BTCC models currently in this collection are produced in 1:43 scale. This is the standard and most popular scale for touring car collectors.

A 1:43 scale car is typically 10 to 12 centimetres in length. This compact size allows collectors to display multiple cars from a single season or team without requiring excessive shelf space.

Are these models made from resin or diecast metal?

The BTCC models in our range are manufactured by Spark and are constructed from high-quality resin.

Resin is the preferred material for modern motorsport models because it allows the manufacturer to capture the sharp aerodynamic details, fine panel lines, and complex curves of the NGTC cars far more accurately than traditional diecast metal.

These are sealed body models, meaning the doors and bonnet do not open, which preserves the accurate exterior profile of the car.

Do the models come with a display case?

Yes. Every 1:43 scale Spark model is supplied on a custom presentation plinth and is enclosed within a clear acrylic display case.

This protects the model from dust and damage while on display. The base of the plinth typically features the car's details, including the driver, team, and race year.

Can I pre-order BTCC models?

Yes, we regularly list new BTCC models for pre-order as soon as they are announced by Spark.

Pre-ordering secures your model from our initial allocation. Please note that release dates for pre-order models are estimates provided by the manufacturer and can be subject to change due to the complex production and licensing approval processes.

If you require a model immediately, please choose from our in-stock selection.

What is your delivery policy?

We offer free mainland UK delivery on all orders over £25.

All in-stock orders placed before 12:30 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays), are dispatched the same day.

We take packaging seriously, every order is shipped in a sturdy, rigid cardboard box to ensure your model and its display case arrive in pristine condition.

About the British Touring Car Championship

The British Touring Car Championship was first held in 1958, initially running with a mix of classes divided by engine capacity. Over the decades, the series has adapted to various international regulations, most notably the Super Touring era of the 1990s, which saw massive manufacturer involvement and rapid technological development.

Today, the championship operates under the Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) regulations, introduced in 2011. These rules were designed to reduce costs and equalise performance across different vehicle types. NGTC cars share a number of common components, including subframes, brakes, and gearboxes, while allowing teams to use either a manufacturer-specific 2.0-litre turbocharged engine or a standardised unbranded engine.

This formula has resulted in highly competitive grids, with independent teams regularly challenging factory-backed efforts.

The Cars of the Modern BTCC

Our collection primarily features cars built to the current NGTC specification. These vehicles are characterised by their aggressive aerodynamic packages, which include deep front splitters, widened wheel arches, and standardised rear wings.

Ford Focus ST: The front-wheel-drive Ford Focus has been a highly successful platform in the modern BTCC. Run by teams such as Motorbase Performance (competing under the NAPA Racing UK banner), the Focus has secured multiple drivers' and teams' championships in recent years, driven by talents like Ashley Sutton and Dan Cammish.

BMW 330i M Sport: Representing the rear-wheel-drive contingent, the BMW 330i M Sport has been the car of choice for West Surrey Racing (Team BMW). The 330i has proven exceptionally strong off the start line and consistent over race distances, helping Colin Turkington secure his place as one of the most successful drivers in BTCC history.

Collecting BTCC Models: The Spark 1:43 Range

The models in our BTCC collection are produced by Spark in 1:43 scale. A 1:43 model measures approximately 10 to 12 centimetres in length, making it the ideal size for displaying a complete grid of touring cars.

Spark models are manufactured using high-quality resin rather than traditional diecast metal. Resin casting allows for much finer detailing, which is essential for accurately reproducing the complex aerodynamic shapes, louvres, and panel gaps of an NGTC touring car. These are sealed body models, ensuring the exterior lines remain perfectly accurate to the real vehicle.

Every Spark 1:43 BTCC model is supplied mounted on a presentation plinth and protected by a clear acrylic display case, keeping the model free from dust while allowing it to be easily stacked and displayed.
