Spark Resin Scale Model Cars

Spark models are renowned for their incredibly intricate detailed resin models. With the founding models being "back of the grid" Le Mans competition cars they found a niche in the market.

Now, Spark Models offer a vast range of motorsport models & road going vehicles. Whilst continuing an extraordinary range of Le Mans cars, you can find models from a huge variety of series such as Formula 1, Rally Cars, IMSA, Super GT & more.

Please note that with Spark Models, you will receive a sealed vehicle. That means, no opening bonnets, doors etc - However what you will receive is an industry leading detailed model of your favourite vehicles, and some rather odd ones too that other model manufacturers may not consider.

All of the Spark cars in this collection are available with free mainland UK delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scale are Spark models?

The majority of the Spark models in our collection are produced in 1:43 scale, which is the industry standard for motorsport collectors. A 1:43 scale model is typically 10 to 12 centimetres in length.

Spark also produces a growing range of 1:18 scale models, which measure approximately 25 centimetres in length and serve as larger, highly detailed centrepieces.

We also stock their 1:5 scale replica helmets. The scale of each item is clearly listed in the product title and description.

Are Spark models made of resin or diecast metal?

Spark models are primarily constructed from high-quality resin.

Resin casting allows for much finer detailing and sharper lines than traditional diecast metal, making it the preferred material for accurately replicating the complex aerodynamics of modern racing cars.

Because they are made of resin, they are sealed body models, the doors and engine covers do not open.

We also strong advise that these pieces are predominately meant for static display and should not be handled regularly.

Do Spark models come with a display case?

Yes. All Spark models are supplied mounted on a custom presentation plinth and are enclosed within a clear acrylic display case, this goes for both cars and helmets.

This protects the model from dust and allows for easy, stackable display. The base of the plinth typically features the car's details, including the driver, team, and race event.

Their 1:18 scale models are usually supplied on a base mount within a window box.

What is the difference between Spark and Looksmart?

Both Spark and Looksmart are premium resin model brands operating under the same parent company, Minimax.

They share the same high standards of manufacturing and detail.

The primary difference is licensing: Looksmart holds the official licence to produce Ferrari models.

Therefore, if you are looking for a Ferrari Le Mans or GT car, it will be produced by Looksmart.

Spark produces models for almost every other manufacturer on the grid.

Can I pre-order upcoming Spark releases?

Yes, we regularly list new Spark models for pre-order as soon as they are announced.

Spark produces models in limited production runs, so pre-ordering is the best way to secure a specific car. Please note that release dates for pre-order models are estimates provided by Spark and can be subject to change due to the complex production and licensing approval processes.

As a result of this process sometimes extending by months compared to the original schedule, we heavily advise to not pre-order a model with hard deadline requirement, such as a birthday or Christmas. In these instances, please view our available stock on hand.

About Spark Models

Founded in 2000 by Hugo Ripert, Spark Models was born from a desire to produce high-quality scale replicas of cars that were often ignored by mainstream manufacturers. Ripert's initial ambition was to model the entire grid of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, not just the overall winners, but the privateer entries and class contenders that make up the "back of the grid."

Operating under the Minimax group, Spark has grown from a boutique producer into one of the most respected names in the scale model industry. By relocating the traditional European cottage industry of small-run, hand-built resin modelling to purpose-built facilities in China & Madagascar, Spark has been able to maintain exceptional quality while producing an incredibly diverse catalogue of vehicles.

Motorsport Coverage

Spark's catalogue is arguably the most comprehensive in the scale model industry, covering almost every major motorsport discipline:

Endurance Racing & Le Mans: This remains the core of Spark's identity. Their range covers the entire history of endurance racing, from the pre-war era to the Group C cars of the 1980s, right through to the current Hypercar and LMGT3 classes. If a car raced at La Sarthe, there is a strong chance Spark has modelled it.

Formula 1: Spark produces highly detailed 1:43 and 1:18 scale replicas of the current Formula 1 grid, working directly with teams such as Red Bull Racing, Mercedes-AMG, McLaren, and Aston Martin. They also produce an extensive range of historic F1 cars, showcasing the sport's evolution through the decades.

Touring Cars & GT Racing: Beyond the global championships, Spark covers national and regional series with equal dedication. Their range includes the Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) machines of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), the GT3 and GT500 cars of the Japanese Super GT series, and contenders from the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

WRC & Rally Events: Spark produces an extensive range of rally car replicas, covering both the World Rally Championship (WRC) and individual historic events. Their rally catalogue includes modern Rally1 cars from Toyota, Hyundai, and Ford M-Sport, as well as classic machinery from the Group B era and beyond. Individual events are well represented, with dedicated ranges for the Rally Monte Carlo, the Safari Rally, and other rounds of the WRC calendar. Both current-season pre-orders and historic models are available.
