Description
Highly detailed resin Spark model of the BMW M Hybrid V8 #15 BMW M Team WRT Le Mans 24Hrs 2024 in 1/43 scale, measuring approximately 10cm in length.
Information about the car:
In the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, BMW M Team WRT entered the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, driven by Dries Vanthoor, Raffaele Marciello, and Marco Wittmann.
The team showcased impressive pace during the qualifying session, securing the top spot in the Hypercar category with a lap time of 3:24.465. The Hyperpole would ultimately go to the #6 Penske Porsche 963.
However, during the race, the team faced significant challenges that led to their early retirement. Driven by Dries Vanthoor, the car was involved in a collision with the leading #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P, piloted by Robert Kubica.
The incident occurred as Kubica attempted to overtake both the lapped BMW and a slower-class vehicle near Mulsanne Corner. Side-to-side contact between the Ferrari and the BMW resulted in Vanthoor's car veering head-on into the Armco barriers.
Fortunately, Vanthoor was not seriously injured, though he was visibly upset, believing he had been unjustly forced off the track.
This item is brand new, in its original sleeve, secured to its plinth and has never been opened even for photography purposes.
